Indigenous to Uruguay and Argentina, this vigorous species grows to
a height of 12 in (30 cm). The starry, cup-shaped, white flowers are
2 in (5 cm) wide and are borne singly on the slender stems. The
grass-like foliage is evergreen Cultivation: Moderately to
marginally frost hardy, they do well in sun or part-shade. They like
fertile, well-drained but moist soil, but usually flower best when
they have had a chance to multiply into tight clumps.
