Common name: Monkey Brush vine
Botanical name: Combretum rotundifolium Family: Combretaceae (rangoon
creeper family)
Synonyms: Combretum aubletii
Native to South America, Monkey’s brush is a vine sporting vivid
orange-red inflorescences at the tips of the branches. Elongated
powder-puff flowers are multi-colored: yellow, orange, and red. When
in bloom, this vining shrub is all covered with them, looks like a
fire. It is somewhat similar to its cousine Flame Vine, but has much
more prominant blooms. |
