Native to India, this shrub grows to a height and spread of 6 ft
(1.8 m). In summer it bears clusters of orange-yellow tubular
flowers beside large, white bracts, set among pale green, oval
leaves; berries follow the bloom. The erect, branching stem has a
shrubby crown.
Hardiness zone from 11 To 12
Cultivation: Frost tender, they prefer a sunny or part-shaded
position and fertile, well-drained soil. Propagate from seed or
cuttings in spring. Red spider mite and white fly may be
troublesome.
