The plant is a small tree 5 m tall. White latex is produced from cut
surfaces. The flower has a white corolla formed from 5 petals fused
together. It's usually found in lowland forests, especially swamp
forest.Has ornamental potential for shady, wet spots or aquatic
sites
Latex from its leaves and bark contain alkaloids such as kopsingine,
kopsingarine and kopsasporine, which are potential cancer fighting
compounds.
Rhazinilam, a new antineuplastic drug is found in this species. It
prevents both microtubule assembly and cold microtubule disassembly.
