This species can reach a height of 60 ft (18 m).

Its glossy, dark green leathery leaves are shed continuously all
year.
The small greenish flowers, held in the axils, are followed by
pear-shaped, nutritious, green or black fruit.
The stem is usually erect.
The avocado is tender to both frost and dry conditions, and can be
nurtured in mild climates well south and north of the tropics.
There are many named cultivars, each with different growth patterns
and requirements.

Cultivation:Fast growing, they can be untidy trees as they drop
leaves constantly.
Although self-fertile, at least 2 trees are required for good crops.
Persea demand rich soil, perfect drainage, ample moisture when
fruiting and full sun and are best sheltered from strong winds.
