Indigenous to the Malay Archipelago, this tree reaches a
height of
30-40 ft (9-12 m) with a rounded crown.
The leaves are dark green and glossy and the fluffy, greenish white
flowers are borne in large rounded clusters.
The edible, creamy pink to yellow, fragrant fruit have a decided
taste of rose water.
Cultivation: The plants prefer full sun to part-shade and deep,
moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Prune to shape if necessary.
Propagate from fresh seed or cuttings. |
